Happy Single Awareness Day!

Valentine’s Day is upon us. In my opinion, they should rename it single awareness day.  I mean, where’s our Hallmark holiday? I’m typically not one that even buys into the Hallmark Holidays. If it is not a paid day off, I’m not really that interested. As far as I’m concerned it’s just another way for the marketplace to take more money out of our wallets. While I’m not opposed to the idea of chocolate and flowers, (EVER) why do I have to wait until February 14^th?  What happened to last Tuesday?  Didn’t you love me the Monday before last?  Do you really need a reminder?

What about those not in a relationship? Which statistically speaking, I believe is a large percentage of folks. If you factor in those that aren’t in a happy relationship, that percentage probably triples!

So Happy Single Awareness Day! Look around. That means you ladies without the flowers on your desk. I know, it’s supposedly about love and you don’t have to have a significant other. You can show love for family, friends or even strangers. It’s a celebration of Love. But again, do we really need a reminder from Hallmark to remember to show love? It appears we do!

What about the sidepieces? When is sidepiece Valentines Day? Is it the 13^th or the 15^th? Help me out Hallmark!

• National Bring back real music Day! (The kind with musicians!)
• National Stop Bullying Day!
• National Eliminate Greed and Greedy Assholes Day!
• National No Babies on Redeye Flights Day!
• National Leave your Damn Dog at home Day!
• National Buy Two Seats on the Plane Day! (I paid for all of this one!)

What can I say?  It’s Valentines Day, so I’m emotional!
